2008 Theme: Becoming Bread for the World

At Camp Cross this year we will mentor the youth in deepening their own spirituality and formation in order to better serve the world they spend their lives in. It’s not about Camp being separate from the world, but Camp being an active part of the world all year through our campers who share what they learn and practice at Camp Cross by the way they live their lives. Committed to mentoring campers in leading authentic and satisfying Christian lives, at Camp Cross in 2008 we want campers to feed the world with friendship, joy, love and compassion.

A letter from the Director:

Dear friends,

Set in an idyllic location, accessible only by boat, peaceful and beautiful, Camp Cross is a place for youth, families, and groups to come, and have the best time of their year in the company of friends new and old.

In our week-long resident camps, youth bond with their small groups and cabin mates through all sorts of outdoor activities, as well as learning to live out Christ’s call for us to be accepting and loving of all around us, a message cemented by life-long friends and memories.

Families join us year after year, to relax, enjoy time together, and have fun doing everything from carnivals to dutch-oven-cooking.

For others, Camp Cross is a refreshing, inspiring, and accommodating site for all types of conferences, retreats and groups meetings.

We welcome you to experience Camp Cross, a place to retreat from your busy life, and live for a week or weekend in the midst of the bounty of friends and nature. I look forward to seeing you soon, and sharing this place with you.

Peace,

H Chase Shields
Director
