Buidling, Beef, Brews: Man Camp
June 10th, 2008 Posted in Camps
A weekend of construction, discussion, steak and microbrews, the Rev. Col. Jeff Neuberger lead Man Camp from June 6-8th. On top of his thought provoking stories of his chaplaincy in Iraq, he lead a discussion on what the story of “the Road to Emmaus” means for our call to mission. The guys also made first of many Adirondack chairs and disc-golf baskets that are going to be cropping up around Camp this summer. After a couple inaugural rounds of disc golf, we had a steak and potatoes dinner with a microbrew potluck before pulling out the guitars for a great Saturday night. On Sunday, Brendan Wiechert, Strategic Planning chair of the Camp Cross commission, lead a Q&A on the past, present and future of Camp Cross. To close the weekend of fellowship and much deserved relaxation, we celebrated the Eucharist, including a passionate sermon on our call to mission in the world. We had a great weekend, and are excited to see this revived tradition continue to spread in grow in the coming years.

Sounds like a great Man-Camp. Sorry to miss it, but I look forward to enjoying the frisbee golf or chairs during the upcoming season.
