Camp Cross welcomes Siri Hammond to the Program Staff

Hailing from Pullman, Washington, Siri has been attending Camp Cross since she was young, joining older campers at Labor Day family camp. Siri began to attend the summer camp sessions as she got older, and served as a counselor while in high school. She will be a senior next year at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where she is majoring in Theatre. Siri has spent the past five months studying abroad in France. She is excited and honored to take on yet another role in the Camp Cross community as a member of this year’s Program Staff. Vive Camp Cross!

Labor of Love is May18-20

Just three weeks! That’s how long until we dust off the winter months and set up Camp Cross for another summer on beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene.

However, we can’t do it without the help of many. Please join us for one, two or all three days of Labor of Love this season and get the first look at Camp Cross in 2012.

We start bright and early on Friday, May 18, but you can join us later if you’d like. We will have boat pick ups at 10am, 2pm and 5:30pm each day during the weekend. There is no cost to participate in Labor of Love, but we do ask that you come ready to jump in and help out in any way you can. All participants will need to register for the session.

There are some great things happening at Camp Cross this year, and it all starts with Labor of Love. Will you be a part of it?

Naomi Cunningham

Meet Naomi!! She is coming to Camp Cross all the way from Kansas! Naomi is a sophomore at Kansas State University where she is a peer minister at the K-State Canterbury House, the Episcopal campus ministry program. In her spare time she loves to sing her heart out! Naomi is super excited to meet all our great campers this summer!

Kacei Conyers

Kacei Conyers hails from greater Sacramento, California. She is a camp transplant from Camp Noel Porter, an Episcopal Camp in Tahoe City, California. There she served for four years as a counselor and on program staff as Clergy Assistant. She is a rising senior at Gonzaga where she is majoring in Religious Studies and minoring in Classical Civilizations.

Kacei is stoked to serve at Camp Cross this summer.

Sid Arguello to join the Camp Cross Program Staff

This year Camp Cross is blessed to have the services of Sid Arguello as part of our Program Staff in 2012. Sid comes to us from Kansas St. University where he is studying Psychology and Sociology. He also serves as the Vice President of the Delta Upsilon Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Sid is an avid athlete. He is a runner, cross-fitter, and triathlete in training. Sid also plays midfield for the KSU Lacrosse team.

Please be sure to welcome Sid to Camp Cross!

PROGRAM ALERT: LIT starts at 5pm on Friday, April 13

Welcome to the program Rachel Mathison

Rachel Mathison

Rachel Mathison joins us this year as a member of our 2012 Program Staff. Rachel has been a camper, counselor, and now a staff member at Camp Cross.

Rachel comes to us from Western Washington University where she is studying Psychology. She is originally from Pullman, Washington and was an active participant in youth events when she was younger.

Rachel is really looking forward to being a part of this summer at Camp Cross.

AJ Frye to be in charge of technology and media in 2012

AJ Frye

This year Camp Cross is bringing on a person solely dedicated to technological and communicative needs of the camp.

This person will be responsible for everything from pictures at camp to updating our Website and so much more.

Camp Cross is stoked to announce that our good friend and former Program Staff member will be taking on this post in 2012.

AJ brings a great deal of camp and technology experience to the table. He came to Camp Cross as a camper for the first time in 2000 from his hometown in North Bend, WA. Since that time he has served at Camp Cross as a counselor and staff member as well.

He will be returning to Camp Cross after a short hiatus following his graduation from the University of Washington in 2009, and he is truly excited to be back and helping integrate new and old technology ideas into the camp rhythm.

Meet Chef Shattuck, our 2012 Food Service Director

Returning to Camp Cross this summer after a one year hiatus is our good friend David Shattuck. David has held positions at Camp Cross as the Facilities Director, Program Staff, and most recently as the Food Service Director in 2010.

David originates from the state of Texas, and found his way to Camp Cross while he was a graduate student at Eastern Washington University.

This past year David has served as the Food Director at Camp Crucis in Texas where he was once a camper himself.

Join us all in giving David a big WELCOME BACK!!!
