Listening for God: A Camp Cross Spirituality Retreat
Camp Cross will host a spirituality retreat entitled ‘Listening for God’ the weekend of September 17-19. Led by the Rev. Dr. Nancy Copeland-Payton, pastor, author, medical doctor, and director of Gonzaga University’s spiritual direction program, the weekend will explore fundamental themes and practices of spiritual discernment. The weekend will include a balance of large group, small group, and individual spiritual work wrapped within the framework of regular worship and reflection. Cost for participants is $95 for the weekend, which includes both room and board. In addition, the Rev. Copeland-Payton will be available on Thursday, September 16th and Friday, September 17th at 10 & 11am and 2, 3, and 4pm for individual spiritual direction for a suggested donation of $35-50. Women’s Weekend
Hello Ladies!
I just wanted to brief you on the upcoming opportunity at Camp Cross for women wanting to relax in the beautiful nature that God has provided. Women’s Weekend is a weekend for relaxation and pampering. Join women from around the Diocese and beyond. Bring family and friends. Women’s Weekend offers spiritual renewal through the program and environment. See all that 100 acres of beautiful land on Lake Coeur d’Alene can offer, or take a cruise on the lake if 100 acres is not enough. Come share your experiences with women from all generations, and drink in the beauty of Camp Cross.

Age: This session is open for all ages.
Young Adult Camping Trip September 10-12
The Young Adult group is having a camping trip in less than a month. On September 10-12, young adults are invited to join us at the Ohanapecosh campsite near Mt. Rainier. The cost to each registrant is just $25 for the whole weekend, and registration is limited to the first 25 people to sign up soon.
Participants will enjoy fun and relaxation in the shadow of Washington’s highest peak. Other offerings will be hiking, music and fellowship with others from around the northwest.
This is a camping trip, so be sure to bring your sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle and tent. Bring some warm clothes too, and bring your instruments if you got them. Food and cooking apparatus are provided.
Senior High Session Themes
Hey Camp Cross Senior High Campers! The staff at camp is so excited for you to come out for Senior High 2010 session. We have some excellent programming scheduled. Of course, we can’t spill all of the beans, but we can let you know what our themes are for the week.
Monday – “Free Willy Day”
So get out that dusty old dorsal fin and blow hole and bring it on down to camp.
Tuesday – “Cowboys & Outlaws Day”
Howdy! Sure would be plum dandy if ya’ll would get yer spurs shined and your bandanas pressed for this theme.
Wednesday – “Super Hero Day”
Your cape is optional but your super powers are not.
Thursday – “Lion King Day”
Bring an animal costume and make your way to the Camp Cross Serengetti.
Friday – “Fairy Tale/Black & White Day”
Park your magical pumpkin at camp with a castle full of magical fairy tale garb. Don’t forget some snazzy black and white duds to impress the ritzy folk.
Halfway: The Summer Flies…
July 25th Worship Cancelled
Unfortunately there will not be a service held at Camp Cross on July 25, 2010. However, we do hope to see you next weekend for worship and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
Mid High Open House
Please join us at Camp Cross for our Mid High session’s open house. We’d love to see the family and friends of the campers as well as newcomer’s and alumni campers. We will have a pontoon pick up from Loff’s Bay at 10:30 a.m. with a Eucharist at 11:00 a.m.and one more pontoon pick up at 12:00 for camp tours and lunch! We are excited to share our blessed week with you via slide show and BBQ awesomeness.
Sunday Worship at Camp
Camp Cross will be hosting a Sunday Worship for the duration of the summer season at our very own St. Francis Chapel. We welcome the public to join us. Please signal camp by using the dock phone at Loff’s Bay for pick up at 10:30 a.m. Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to worship God in the beauty of the his outdoors and we look forward to seeing you there.

Boat pick up times for Labor Day Family Camp
We will be running boat shuttles from Loff’s Bay launch to Camp Cross at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm on Friday September 3. Parking will be limited to the first 10 cars at Loff’s Bay parking lot. Any parking needed beyond that will be directed to an alternate site .25 miles up the road where we will also be performing pick ups as needed.
