One of the most common memories former campers have is of former staff members at Camp Cross. Our staff is instrumental in making Camp Cross what it is. Our staff create the program that so many campers come back to year after year. They set the tone for all our campers through their energy, dedication, empathy, hard work and ability to encourage a fun and safe environment. All staff members must serve as role models and mentors to the campers and volunteers. They have high character and are willing to work together daily in a very close-knit Christian community. When choosing our staff, we take all of this into account in order to put together the most amazing team we can so that they can live on in the memories of campers for years to come.
We currently have positions available for program staff members, Kitchen Director, Waterfront Director, Facilities Director and Assistant Program Director.
Applicants for a summer staff position should have a strong and reflective relationship with Christ that they are excited to share with our campers and counselors as mentors. Applicants must be flexible and able to step in and work in all aspects of the camp operations, from leading canoe-tug-of-war to keeping the camp looking great. Preference is given to applicants finished with their second year of college, and work experience at another summer camp is a plus.
Start and end dates are flexible, with the main season running from June 15 to August 18. Salary DOE, other benefits include a private, rustic cabin, a beautiful camp with 6,000+ feet of waterfront, access to camp recreation equipment in off time, and at least one day off per week.
